The role of the Greek-Byzantine spiritual tradition in the formation of the socio-cultural identity of Russians

The article examines how the Byzantine spiritual tradition was perceived in Russian-Slavic territories, cities and principalities with varying degrees of calm and successfully implemented the Eastern Christian type of society development. The article analyzes the fact that it is the synthesis of Greek and Middle Eastern cultures that is of lasting importance in the Byzantine heritage. Byzantism had a significant impact on early Christian culture and ancient Russian civilization, especially in philosophy, art, and morality. The result of the study indicates the conclusion that the social traditions of the regions of the Orthodox Ecumenical community (Russians, Bulgarians, Greeks, Serbs and other ethnic groups) were developed by religious figures, representatives of the real sector of the economy, and industry.
