The article substantiates the important role of humanistic psychology in physical education. The concepts of ‘existential vacuum’, ‘productive orientation’, ‘unproductive orientation’ as applied to sports pedagogy are analyzed. It is proved that humanistic psychology contributes to the improvement of the spiritual health of the younger generation.
