Role and place of applied and decorative folk art in contemporary culture

The article characterizes the role and place of applied and decorative folk art in postmodern culture. The author defines several trends of development of applied and decorative folk art: since traditional artistic creative work till individual self-identification as the representative of the ethnos, country, multicultural world; both personal and professional development; and formation of tolerant consciousness by acquiring applied and decorative art of various folks.
