The role of infrastructure in the sustainable socio-economic development of the NWFD

Within the framework of this article, the role of infrastructure in the sustainable socio-economic development of the NWFD was determined. The problems of transport accessibility are one of the main ones for the successful development of the transport infrastructure of the region. Despite the numerous publications on this issue, there are practically no studies focusing on the socio-economic development of the Northwestern Federal District. Due to the fact that this phenomenon has been little studied, the problem in this formulation is being considered for the first time. The purpose of this study is to analyze the transport infrastructure of the Northwestern Federal District. The study was conducted on the basis of nine regions that are part of the NWFD. To study the problem, the calculation of indicators characterizing the transport infrastructure of the region was carried out. As a result of the study, the role of infrastructure in the sustainable socio-economic development of the region was determined. The study of the problem made it possible to identify the main characteristics of the Northwestern Federal District roadway. The obtained results contribute to the development of the theory of the formation of sustainable development of transport infrastructure in the region. The results of the study open up a new theoretical direction in the study of problems related to ensuring transport accessibility to remote regions of the country.
