Institutions are the "rules of the game" in society, which people follow in interacting with each other in different spheres - political, social, economic, and which thereby determine opportunities and incentives. This article discusses the research of the Nobel laureates in economics in 2024, in particular, how institutions are formed and how they affect the well-being of nations.
