This article is devoted to the study of the role of intuition in the cognitive process. Based on analysis, the following set forth: the concept of intuition from antiquity to the present; the value of intuition in a person's life; the role of intuition as a component of cognition in obtaining scientific knowledge and in the process of creative activity.
