The article reveals the place and importance of controlling in the management process, while controlling is presented as a tool for comprehensive methodological and information support of the main functions of enterprise management. The concepts and definitions of controlling, as well as the advantages of the introduction and the role of the application of controlling in modern conditions of management development at enterprises are investigated.
