The role of culture in socio-cultural concepts of social development

The article deals with the assessment of the role of culture in society. Some of the most significant provisions of the socio-cultural concepts of Auguste Comte and Pitirim Sorokin are considered in detail. The analysis of views on the assessment of the role of culture in society shows that the sphere of culture is not only multifaceted, but its influence on social processes has historically changed.
