The role of Manchuria in Russian policy in the Far East at the end of the 19th century

The article analyzes the problems of the Russian-Chinese trade in Manchuria, which become apparent during the first days of the Russian joining to the Amur Region and which were of current importance for nearly four decades. It is important to note, that Russian statesmen raised the question not just about the development of commercial operation, but the question of the Russian influence in the Northern China, and also the question of the opportunity to supply Russian Manchuria by all commodities, that were needed and of the possibility to develop free trade and put the region into the economic and political dependence from Russia.
