Тhis article focuses on the most important aspects of the institution of mediation. An attempt is made to define the role of mediation in the criminal process. Also, a scientific analysis of models of effective use of the institution of mediation in the course of criminal proceedings has been carried out. Clear conclusions have been formulated for the further development of the institution of mediation.
