The role of metaphysics of law in modern philosophical and legal discourse

Introduction: the subject of research is metaphysically oriented theories of natural law and their place in the general system of legal philosophy. The need to rethink the role of metaphysics of law in the philosophical and legal discourse is determined by the increasing interest in the theoretical propositions of natural rights and the systemic influence of the theory of natural law on positive legal teachings. This allows us to consider the metaphysics of law as an integral component of the philosophical and legal discourse. Materials and Methods: defining the role of the philosophy of law in the system of modern philosophical and legal discourse implies a wide application of the dialectical method of analysis of developing socio-cultural systems. The dialectical method is applied to the consideration of the factors of the mutual dependence of natural-law and positive-legal doctrines.
