The importance of motivation and its developing in teaching physical education to the schoolchildren

This article analyzes the types of student motivation in physical education classes at school and the degree of teacher influence on this process, that is, how the teacher can contribute to its change for better or for worse. External and internal motivation, their features, as well as the types of incentives used by teachers to increase one or another motivation are investigated. The concept of self - determination, its features are disclosed, the provisions from the theory, which focuses on the stages of motivation of students, with an emphasis on physical education, are given. Then the steps that the teacher can take in the beginning to determine the level of motivation, and then already to increase it in students are analyzed. Some strategies used by teachers around the world for this purpose are also given.
