The role of alluvial territories in the development of St. Petersburg

In modern urban planning practice, the design of alluvial territories in cities formed near large water bodies is of relevance. The article examines the role of alluvial territories in the formation of the modern appearance of the city based on the study of archival documents of territorial planning and consideration of the evolution of priority areas of development of the inner waters of the Gulf of Finland. The soaped lands of St. Petersburg-Petrograd-Leningrad are considered as an object of research.
