Представлен исторический анализ теорий, описывающих процесс опускания яичка, и роли в данном процессе направляющей связки яичка. Рассмотрены имеющиеся сведения о строении направляющей связки яичка. Выделены ключевые компоненты, участвующие в механизмах, связанных с процессом опускания яичка, показана структурно-функциональная значимость направляющей связки яичка в данном процессе. Особое внимание отводится нейрогуморальной регуляции.
