The role of folk song in the formation of value guidelines at various stages of the evolution of folk song creativity, from paganism to modernity

The article deals with the peculiarities of folk song development from paganism to modern times. The main objective is to identify the main stages of the evolutionary development of folk song and assess its place in the modern socio cultural environment in accordance with the value orientations. The article characterises the most significant stages of folk song development, starting from the pagan era, and marks its modern forms and content. Despite the originality of historical epochs, Russian musical folklore continues to exist, although in a modified form. It has found its place in professional music, weaving into compositions and moulding the Russian musical style. Musical folklore is constantly adapting to various historical events and is valuable historical information stored in every note and chord. Listening to and studying these works, we learn about the path of development of our people, about the experiences and hopes, life values and ideals of each historical period.
