The role of the masses as a subject of law in the cultural revolution in China (1966-1976)

The purpose of the study is to determine the role of the masses and grassroots initiative in the processes that took place during the Cultural Revolution in China (1966-1976). The article examines the attitude of Chinese state and party bodies to the grassroots self-organization of revolutionary groups of workers and students during the cultural Revolution. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the approach to the study of the political processes of the cultural revolution from the point of view of the Maoist interpretation of the Marxist theory of law and the state. As a result, in the political transformations of China in the period from 1966 to 1976, a special role of the grassroots initiative of the population was highlighted.
