Role of images of corporeality under conditions of socio-cultural crisis

The article analyzes the role of images of corporeality in the socio-cultural space. It focuses on the images of сorporeality in crisis situation, when they act as an instrument for regulating and managing society and public consciousness. We have clarified the concepts of body image, body ideal, corporeality as a socio-philosophical category in values and semantic context, described a mechanism for building and changing images of corporeality, сonforming to both external and internal logic of its development. Internal logic originates in the peculiarities of figurative thinking dating back to mythological illogical thinking; external one is dictated by economic and political conditions. We have given the examples of various manifestations of images of corporeality, in culture, and proposed a way to overcome and get society out of crisis by targeted determining the boundaries of corporeality. It has been concluded that there is a need to understand the role of images of corporeality in the development and implementation of state programs aimed at strengthening the state and society.
