The role of public associations in formation of the civic position of youth

The authors reveal the role of public associations in the formation of the civic position of youth. The empirical base of the article are the results of the authors' sociological study “Problems and contradictions in the reproduction of the cultural capital of civil society institutions in the region”. The study revealed a low indicator of youth civic engagement in the Belgorod region. This situation can be explained not only by the general sociopolitical passivity of most of the youth, but also by the fact that many public associations do not reflect their interests, or cannot adequately inform about their activities. The authors emphasize that at present it is advisable to increase the proportion of students involved in the implementation of social, creative and other projects in the region, which will at least partially strengthen the influence of public associations on the formation of conscious participation of young people in society.
