This article discusses the role of perfusion disorders in the pathogenesis of respiratory failure. Characteristics of the main types of pulmonary blood flow disorders, the reasons for their development and their significance in the development of respiratory failure are given. Violation of pulmonary perfusion is considered as a typical form of pathology of the external respiration system, the pathogenetic basis of which is the inadequacy of total capillary blood flow in the pulmonary circulation to the volume of alveolar ventilation over a certain period of time.
