The article explicates the problem of the role of a political leader as a representative of the authorities in a crisis situation. An emergency incident is seen as a challenge to the readiness of a political leader to embody the position of the authorities, to become a mediator between the professional community that neutralizes the consequences of an emergency, and citizens as a wide audience, as consumers of news content about this incident.
