The role of legal culture in the civil society development

The study analyzes the role of legal culture in creating and developing the civil society. The research notes that the social and cultural capacity enhancement of legal culture, its improvement will upgrade and facilitate the effective development of the institutions of civil society. Legal culture is the basis for the harmonious development of society, contributes to the overall social progress and the development of legal values that enrich the personality and guarantees that the fundamentals of the civil society and its functioning will be kept. The author concludes that the modern Russian society characterized by its ethnic, social and cultural peculiarities, its own level of legal culture, legal mentality can build the civil society if the key elements (effective legislation, development of the institution of human rights, authority reforms, offense prevention, mass legal education and instruction, legal humanization) are implemented.
