Although surgical resection for early stage lung cancer is the mainstay of treatment, many patients are inoperable at the time of presentation due to either disseminated disease or medical comorbidities. It is necessary to search for alternative ways to treat this group of patients. One of the novel strategies currently being developed is radiofrequency ablation. This article shares the experience of RFA in the State Institution of Health Samara, Regional Clinical Oncology Center. The study also shows the analysis of overall survival at one, three and five years on the patients who underwent RFA. The number and types of complications are analyzed and comparison is performed between RFA and RFA in combination with external beam radiotherapy (EBRT).
