Studying of the mechanism of emerging and developing of embolism plays a very important role in the preservation of human and animal health. The importance of reflex mechanisms in pathology emerging and developing during embolism and its further influence on collateral pathological processes are mentioned in the article. Different points of view of scientists regarding this question are considered. Two main variants of embolism emerging are mentioned: as clinical-anatomical syndrome and as the reflexo-spastic phenomenon in the vessel and outside it. The term of embolism, basic reasons of its emergence are presented. An emphasis is placed on the generally accepted classification of embolism of two types: exogenous and endogenous and their further specifications. The importance of preventive exercises regarding the pulmonary embolism complications is mentioned. Pulmonary embolism is stressed as a really dangerous variety of endogenous embolisms. The most dangerous complications- pulmonary embolism of pulmonary artery, which is difficult to cure, pulmonary embolism of systemic circulation, which can cause myocardial and cerebral infarctions are described. The possible consequences and outcome of embolisms are mentioned. The role of embolism as complication isn’t unequivocal and is defined by the prevalence, location and size of embolism. It was found that timely diagnostic and correctly made plan of curing are important in the prevention of embolism consequences and impairments affecting various systems of organs in human and animal body.
