The role of rural tourism in preserving cultural and natural heritage

The article considers the organization and benefits of rural tourism, defines the factors of tourism development in rural areas: attracting people to solve their own financial problems, employing the jobless and also preserving cultural and historical heritage and nature protection. The features of tourists’ accommodation in guest houses and accommodation facilities of the "B&B" type are given. The possibilities of organizing and developing rural tourism in the Republic of Buryatia are considered.
