Resume: The issue of high-quality and effective training of medical personnel is very relevant today. It is now recognized that the competence-based approach to educational activities and the implementation of the idea of continuous professional education will allow improving the training of specialists. A competency-based approach to learning is the formulation of student learning goals, i.e. his competencies, allowing to successfully carry out professional activities with the obligatory creation of conditions in the learning process for the reproduction of this activity and its elements. Continuing professional education implies the formation and maintenance of the level of these competencies throughout the professional life of a specialist, both at the university and postgraduate stages of education.
