Resume: The article considers the role of mass media in the formation of tourist attractiveness of the Samara region. The issue of coverage of the prospects of increasing the tourist flow through the media is considered. There is a direct influence of the media on the influx of tourists. A number of problems hindering the development of tourism are highlighted. Modern possibilities of information transfer, their influence on the tourist image are considered. On the example of Samara and Samara region in General, the trends of the strategy of development of tourist flows are shown. The state programs on development of a tourist zone are considered and examples of the realized projects are given. The study of the attractiveness of the area from a tourist point of view, proves the prospects of tourism development. The analysis of major events and projects allows us to identify all the prerequisites for growth in order to further increase the flow of tourists to the region.
