The role of social intelligence in the process of psychological adaptation of high school students

The article presents results of the empirical research showing relevance of the social intelligence in the adaptation process. The author substantiates the role of personal complex cognitive structures in the process of adaptation to the environment. It is shown that human intellectual activity has decisive influence on the self-regulating processes of interaction between a person and environment, it provides content and sets direction to these processes. As a methodological basis of the research the author took Guilford’s three-dimensional model of social intelligence, according to which social intelligence is the result of applying the operation of cognition to the content of behavior.
