Modern challenges in the fi eld of higher education, including the need to improve the institutional effi ciency and innovative potential of universities, require an integrated approach to the use of various resources that form the sustainability and adaptability of academic organizations. In the context of increasing competition, the role of socio-technical capital as an integrative category that unites human, social, cognitive and organizational resources becomes an important factor. The article offers the author’s interpretation of the socio-technical capital of the university as a set of resources formed at the intersection of social interaction, organizational structure and technical environment. The need to synthesize various forms of capital within a single analytical model is substantiated, which allows for a comprehensive assessment and management of university capital to increase its institutional effi ciency and innovative potential. As a result of the study, the emphasis is placed on the motivation of intellectual workers and their interaction with intellectual technologies, which contributes to the effective formation and use of socio-technical capital. The results of the study create a basis for further empirical developments and the formation of applied models for managing university capital.
