The role of a modern European metropolis in the implementation of the policy of multiculturalism

With the increasing urbanization and migration processes in European cities, ethno-political processes have intensified, and cities have become the central place of localization of intercultural contacts. In European cities you can note the positive results of this policy, such as the programs and activities aimed at the development and maintenance of ethnic and cultural diversity and tolerance. At the local level in the megacities there are mechanisms involving ethnic communities in social life of the city, in decision-making, greater representation of ethnic minorities in local government.
