The role of modern communication practices in forming the value basis of society

The fundamental platform that forms the cultural code of the people and society, and is reflected in the worldview of both an individual and the entire social system, is traditional values associated with the ideal (spiritual) component of society. The relevance of the stated topic is manifested in the fact that modern society in a global context tends to individualization, loss of social ties, commitment to innovation and abandonment of the foundations - traditions, on which these innovations should be based, which leads to the dissolution of the uniqueness and timelessness of fundamental spiritual values. It is necessary to identify the degree of significance of traditional values in preserving one's own self and “we”, with which an individual identifies themselves. Modern communicative practices can be considered as tools to strengthen the value platform, key to the formation of the cultural code of the people and society. The critical method, principles of historicism, comprehensiveness and concreteness used in this study allowed to identify positive and negative sides of the digital society, where the main sphere of communication becomes the information and virtual environment. The aim of the study is to consider the main changes in the value orientations of the modern individual through the prism of socio-philosophical analysis and to demonstrate the need to strengthen the true value orientations, acting as elements of the spiritual core of society, through modern communication practices.
