The role of special economic zones in the creation of the modern Chinese economy

The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of special economic zones on the development of the modern Chinese economy. The key importance of special economic zones as a source of creating an economically open system that attracts external investment and takes advantage of the geographical location is determined. It is specified that today there are six types of special economic zones in China, pursuing their own strategic goals in the system of local and global economic development of the country. It is revealed that the special economic zones of China are a tool that has allowed for 40 years to accumulate all the modern world practices of managing and doing business in an open market economy, which has served as an incentive for a long-term increase in the country's global competitiveness.
