The Urals carbonatites are situated in the hanging wall of the Main Uralian fault, which in the Silurian - Upper Devonian time was the subduction zone. Carbonatites are related to the Ilmeno-Vishnevogorsky complex of metamorphic rocks and syenites located opposite the Ufimian bench of the Russian Platform. Since the Ufimian bench is protruded to the East, then here the shelf facies including limestones got into the subduction zone. It is just here in the Main Uralin fault zone one can note the abundance of marbles alternating with serpentinites. Their joint remelting in the subduction zone just brought to the carbonatite formation in super-subductional environments. Probably, this mechanism of the carbonatite formation can also be partially applied to the classical UBAC carbonatites of the platforms related to the rifts inside the platforms. Possibly, the UBAC carbonatites have been formed mainly in those places of the young rifts where the last ones intersect the ancient folded belts containing in the subduction paleozone which had involved to the depth substantial volumes of the limestones.
