Role of tobacco smoking in the formation of up to date public health indicators

Tobacco smoking is one of the modifiable behavioural risk-factors, keeping of which under control correlates with significant improvement of the quality and expectancy of life in population. This review paper aims to highlight the main scientific facts underlying the up-to-date perception of the problem and elaboration of efficient approaches to tobacco control. Issues of prevalence of smoking and impact of different kinds of smoking on cardio-vascular system are presented for discussion.
