The teaching role in the development of socio-cultural environment of the Mordovian region in the second half of XIX – the beginning of the XX centuries

The article is devoted to school teaching role in the development of socio-cultural environment of the Mordovian region in the second half of XIX-th – the beginning of XX-th century. The author analyses the features of realization of education and enlightening functions in the feminization of the intelligentsia, secularization of public life. The author focuses on mental contradictions between the peasantry and schoolteachers.
