The role of East-Siberian State Institute of Culture in regional sociocultural space: to the 60th anniversary of the institute

The article considers the place and role of East-Siberian State Institute of Culture in the regional sociocultural space in the historical retrospective. Along with the characteristics of structure and quality of training of professional staff for the sphere of culture and art, the key moments of the 60-year history of the Institute are reflected. The specifics of educational activities has been shown: from training library specialists, cultural and educational workers during the Soviet time, the period of greater rights and opportunities in higher education at the beginning of the 1990s - beginning of the 2000s, to strict regulation of the educational process in modern conditions. The article defines the role of ESSIC not only as educational, but also as a multifunctional scientific, creative center in the eastern part of Russia.
