Role of the special protection status in reforestation of the «Bastak» nature reserve

The article considers the condition of forest resources in the reserve «Bastak». Changes in the spacial distribution by land categories, age structure of main forest stand species, and the stock of trees have been selected by the author as basic indicators showing the dynamics of forest condition. To the author, the currant state of forest vegetation can be estimated as transformed by anthropogenic activity - especially by felling. However, the absence of anthropogenic load in the studied area, even for a short period (20 years), has brought some positive changes, first of all, due to the restoration of coniferous forests.
