Role models of modern motherhood

The relevance of the study is justified by the problems of reducing the motivation of reproductive behavior and deformations of role representations of parenthood. The novelty of the study lies in the use of a qualitative focus group method, which allowed us to get the most characteristic ideas about the studied phenomenon. The main content aspects of the study are: analysis of current concepts of motherhood in the works of L.I. Savinov, L.G. Sologub, L.A. Gritsay, as well as generalization of modern motherhood role models based on the views of participants in sociological research. The following models are identified: maternal integrity, ignoring maternal functions, assigning parental responsibilities to state social structures, motherhood based on emotional dependence on one's child. The author presents proposals for the formation of a maternal role based on a cognitive approach.
