As a result of the study, the stages of the formation of this legal family were identified - the history of its development is thousands of years old and begins from Roman times and continues to this day. The features caused by the historical development of the continental legal family constitute the characteristic essence of this legal family, which makes it possible to distinguish it from other legal families of the world (Anglo-Saxon, Islamic, African, etc.). In particular, these features include a codified character, a pandectoral presentation system, as well as some others.
