Russian civilization in the context of foreign policy challenges: to the question of the value determinants of state ideology

The article highlights the problem of the existence and development of Russian civilization in the context of foreign policy challenges. The authors substantiate the relevance of appealing to a civilizational approach and socio-philosophical thought to solve the problem of explicating the value determinants of Russian society. The study gives a general description and proposes the periodization of the historical formation of Russian civilization, the factors that determined the stages of the formation of statehood and political structure are distinguished. Based on the theory of the Russian Logos, the authors prove that the values of the people are formed under the influence of a large combination of historical, natural, political and other factors. Based on the concepts of meta-ideology and cultural core, they demonstrate the peculiarities of traditional values in the Russian society and their importance for preserving the integrity and independence of the country. Particular attention is paid to the issue of developing a civilizational ideology, which sets meaning-making attitudes in the activities of a particular society and determines its place on the world stage. Сonclusion dwells upon the fact that there is a need for reflexion of the national civilization within the framework of addressing the topic of historical memory.
