Russian philosophy — a sinking ship?

Бесплатный доступ

At the end of XX century philosophy in Russia was dealt a serious blow, largely abandoning the scientific theory of Marxism. Gradually losing structure and meaning embodied in the search for truth and comprehensive picture of the world, Russian philosophy is rapidly transforming into a way of life for a small group of philosophizing individuals whereas standalone ruminations and reflections, vaguely reminiscent of the scientific inquiry, are increasingly fragmented. A considerable part of Russian philosophers, left without scientific foundation and methodology, have habitually turned their gaze to the West, itself in a long and increasingly hopeless battle against similar chronic problems. It seems likely that the main reason for the widespread methodological clouding of philosophical consciousness lies in the escalating disconnection between the humanities and modern natural sciences. Left unattended this rift threatens to deem philosophy and other humanities less and less relevant. However, there are many internal resources in the humanities, including philosophy to state and strengthen their scientific foundation. The author searches for them in connection with theology, dogmatics, discoursogy and activizm.
