Russian state policy on the development of vocational education of craftsmen (1883-1917): case study of lace schools

The article discusses creating of vocational education system in the Russian state handicraft industrial policy by case study of lace schools. The analysis shows that when developing a network of schools, the government set educational, research and economic goals. Educational activities were an important link in the system of state policy promoting the handicrafts in the Russian Empire
