Russian modernization in the context of world history: conceptual and methodological interpretations

The paper presents views of foreign and Russian researchers concerning conceptual and methodological interpretation of historical process, which took place in Russia. The paper also analyzes various options for using theory of modernization in the study of Russian history. The paper shows incompleteness of currently available theoretical constructions of this methodological paradigm, which allow alternative variants in evaluating historical evolution of Russian statehood.
