The Russian nation and the ethnic and cultural interaction

The article considers the conceptual approaches to the interpretation of the nation, which are relevant in connection with the development of the concept of Russian nation. The conclusion of the dominance of concepts of "nation-citizenship" and "nation-culture" in the Russian science is substantiated. The scientific relevance of the article deals with the conclusion about the necessity of developing of a new concept of the Russian nation. The author argues the suggestion with the legal norms recognizing the Russian nation as a multiethnic one. Also, the ethno-cultural interaction of ethnic communities with the social system subjects is considered as the most important mechanism in the formation of a united nation.
