The Russian labor market in the period market transformation

The article is devoted to the study of the processes of formation and development of the labor market in Russia during the perestroika period of the 1990s and early 2000s. The essence of labor is considered, both positive and negative phenomena that have become attributes of the labor market of the studied period are determined. The analysis of the level and dynamics of wages is carried out. It is noted that low labor productivity in the Russian economy was one of the reasons for the significant lag in the level of wages in the country, not only in comparison with developed countries, but also with some developing ones.
