The article represents the results of a comparative analysis of the birth rate of foreign migrants in the federal districts of Russia. The empirical base is formed by the data of the Department of Population and Health Statistics on citizenship and origin (place of birth) of parents of the Russian Federation. It was revealed that against the background of a decrease in the absolute number of children born in Russia over the period 2011-2023, the absolute number of births to citizens of the CIS countries increased by 1.75 times; the number of fathers from the CIS countries - by 1.8 times. At the same time in general, since 2015 the birth rate of foreign origin persons in Russia has been characterized by negative dynamics, with the exception of the Central Federal District. The highest rates of increase in the number of births are noted among parents-citizens of Central Asian countries, especially in the Central Federal District, where the share of parents from these countries out of all parents of citizens of the CIS increased annually by about a third. Despite the increase in the value of absolute and relative birth rates among foreign migrants and Russian citizens of foreign origin, even in migration-attractive Russian regions, it does not compensate for the population decline.
