The article deals with several topical issues related to the search in criminal procedure. The author analyzes various meanings and contextual variants of use of the word "search", defines the essence of search and singles out objects, subjects and content of search in criminal-procedural activity. Special attention is paid to the problem of establishing the list of wanted objects and the grounds for their search.
