“Lumbering” in “Novel” by Sorokin

This article deals with Sorokin’s literary techniques, deconstructs and restores metaphors. The analysis shows that the “forest” or “axe” as elements of the text are important for the problematization of the novel as a genre, and the special relationship that works with classical examples. The author pays special attention to the reception of the implementation of the metaphor on the plot’s level and concludes that “lumbering” refers to the “Roman” on the language and the plot level, as well as the destruction of the genre - for the purpose of recovering in the transformed form.
