The article is devoted to the functions of a teacher and a student in the process of implementation of the educational design project in the form of a startup - a new form of presentation of the results of research activities of graduates. The authors consider the characteristics of a startup, describe the features of the design project in the form of a startup, and characterize the composition of the design startup team and the stages of startup development. The article contains the conclusion about the contribution of startup activities to the development of the competencies of future designers.
