The aesthetic understanding of the Silver Age is an indicator of the revival of «eternal values» in the Russian culture of the beginning of the 20th century. In its quest to reveal the metaphysical and artistic essence of creativity, it creates new forms and techniques for expressing human emotions. Many philosophers, poets and writers, composers and artists of the beginning of the 20th century were acutely aware of the crisis of culture, whose tragic meaning they sought to embody in their creativity, but already in new artistic forms that allow expanding existing spheres of aesthetic experience. The realization that the framework of classical aesthetics of «fine arts» limits creative impulses, opens up a space for new experiences, transforming the human world. The music culture of the Silver Age is formed on the basis of modernization of the traditions of Romanticism and Neoclassicism, with composers actively resorting to new methods and means of expression already created in the impressionism and symbolism of the transitional period. The synthesis of new techniques and styles becomes one of the leading ideas of musical creativity of the era.
