How did the relations between the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church - the parish clergy and the peasant population-develop at the beginning of the twentieth century? The article considers the directions and forms of activity of the clergy that caused support and approval of the inhabitants of rural parishes, as well as the reasons for complaints and discontent of the peasants in relation to the clergy, including conflicts with its participation.
